Statistics about Wife Murder in Canada

On November 21 2018, Statistics Canada published data about Homicide in Canada in 2017 stating that “according to police reported crime statistics, women account for about eight in ten victims of intimate partner violence. The same is true with respect to homicide.” And that; “In 2017, 84% of homicide victims killed by an intimate partner, meaning by a current or former legally married or common-law spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend or other intimate relationship, were female.”

In total, there were 76 intimate partner homicides in Canada in 2017 which means that: in 2017, 64 women were killed by their current or ex male partner.
